Here are some tips for getting started on the Community Link. (Note: the Quick Links to most of these items can be found in the Community Link Toolbox on the right. Look for these tools through out the site.

1. You do not have to register to get information from the Community Link. Registration is encouraged to get the full benefit of this site, but is only required if you would like to make comments, post events or content. We welcome all community members and organizations to join us and get involved. This website is for everyone. For more information go to the About page, User Guidelines, or submit your questions through the Contact Us form. You can also register and login using your facebook account.

2. We now offer a subscription service. By going to the Quick Subscribe tool – click the Red Envelope     – you can now sign up to be notified when there is activity for a specific category such as Arts and Culture, Local Food, etc.

You will be able to be notified by email or by sms/wireless text message. This service requires your email address and/or wireless phone number but does not require you to register as a Community Link User.

3. If you chose to register, select the link on the right side of the HOME page that says REGISTER or select the button that says LOGIN WITH FACEBOOK, if you would like to register with your facebook account.

Once you’ve registered you can go to the GROUP DIRECTORY to join any groups that interest you. You can also go to the MEMBER DIRECTORY and request to be friends with other members.

4. Currently, the Idea and Innovation portion of this website requires a separate registration and login. This is to prevent you from getting notices about a portion of the site you may not be interested in. The Idea and Innovation portion of the site allows you to sign up for notifications specific to those items.

You can get to the Idea & Innovation portion of the site by selecting the light bulb button to the left and anywhere you see it through out this website.

5. To post content click the Share Your News Now button once you are logged-in to the site.

6. Once you’ve completed your registration, you can go into your user profile and add some information about yourself.

7. To find your profile information, edit your user account, or post content: First, login with your registered username and password. Second, go to the thin black bar at the very top of your screen. Additional menus will drop down as you place you cursor over each item with an arrow next to it. Your user profile is under My Account.
